Just call me Inspector Gadget – that is when it comes to kitchen gadgets, at least! With just about anything and everything you can think of out there on the market, how are we to know which is a scam and which is the real deal?
Thousands of advertisements flood the television and internet, describing appliances as “life changing” and “revolutionary,” but are they really worth it? In my opinion, the majority of the appliances out there are not worth the expense; however, I do have a few staple gadgets that have truly changed my life in the kitchen.
GO GO GADGET RICE! One of my favorite kitchen gadgets by far is my Aroma Rice Cooker – this baby literally works like magic! Trust me, this appliance does all the work for you – you can just press a button and walk away. Who doesn’t want that?
It’s just as simple as 1, 2, 3, then voila – you are left with a side dish cooked to perfection.
- Add Uncooked Rice
- Add Water*
- Press the button
One of the best parts about this rice cooker is the top insert – a small dish you can place atop the cooker that will steam your veggies while simultaneously cooking your rice, leaving you with an entire meal.
Rice is a great staple dish that can be changed up to create several different healthy recipes filled with protein. One cup of brown rice mixed with one cup broccoli supplies your body with the entire daily intake of protein recommended by the FDA… and you thought you needed meat ;)
*TheVeggieGirl Quick Tip – When making brown rice, the rule of thumb is to add twice the amount of water as rice (ex: 1 cup rice=2 cups water, 1 ½ cups rice=3 cups water, etc…)
