All throughout the day I was in a munchie mood, I think we all have those days – you are full, know you shouldn’t be hungry, but still want to crunch on something. These crispy kale chips are just the trick! They will keep your taste buds satisfied without adding any extra calories to your day.
Kale is a negative calorie food, meaning we burn more calories while digesting the veggie than the veggie actually contains. On top of that, the cayenne pepper sprinkled on top of the kale boosts the body’s metabolism, helping to burn even more calories. I munched on these throughout the day, and never had to worry about counting calories! Could this snack get any better?!
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch of kale, washed & dried (about 1 pound)
- olive oil cooking spray,
- 1 T chili powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Preheat the oven 275 degrees F and lightly spray a baking sheet with olive oil cooking spray. Remove the thick stem from the kale and discard (or save for another use – I like to keep the stems and add them to any juice).
Next, tear the kale leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them on the baking sheet. Lightly spray the kale with the cooking spray, and place in the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes, pulling out about halfway through to toss.
Sprinkle the kale with chili powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper, then serve! .
