There is absolutely nothing worse than waking up to that feeling of onset “sickness.” But needless to say, I woke up this morning feeling a little under the weather, with a nose full of sniffles and a cloudy head. First thing was first… I went straight to the closet and grabbed the heating pad.
As I sat on my couch, leaning back on the heating pad, kleenex box in one hand and hot tea in the other, I began racking my brain trying to think of some sort of cure-all medicine for this groggy feeling. Then it dawned on me, and I knew no amount of chicken noodle soup was going to cure my achy back or head… I needed a raw food remedy.
There is nothing more cleansing or healing than food in its natural, pure state… RAW! When we choose not to alter pure, natural fruits and vegetables, we allow the food to do exactly what it was designed to do – heal and nourish our bodies, distributing vitamins and nutrients throughout our system.
This deliciously all raw salad is sure to spark your tastebuds and energize your spirits!
Ingredients (makes two salads):
- 2 cups corn
- 1 cup peas
- 8 asparagus spears
- 6 carrots
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 purple onion
- 1/4 tsp black ground pepper
- dash of salt
- dash of oregano
Wash and chop the vegetables. You can choose to steam the peas and asparagus if you like, but I recommend leaving all the veggies raw (it’s easier that way too). Add seasoning and mix well.
You can serve it right away or let it set in the fridge for about an hour to allow all the flavors to mingle together.
