Did y’all know that Sonic has a new drink called “Rt 44 Strawberry Water”? Well, let me tell you something… it is amazing! One of my mom’s good friends told her about this drink yesterday, so of course my mom told me (good ol’ southern grapevine). It’s simply tiny strawberries mixed with water, delicious Sonic ice, and (the only not so healthy part) sugar. So for this copy-cat recipe, I’ve kept all the flavor, just removed the added sugar.
But, if you’re like me, the best part about the Sonic drink isn’t the sugar, it’s the ice… yum! Got you covered. Did you know you can actually buy a bag of ice at Sonic? I had no idea until today… Crazy! Got a 10-lb bag for $2.37 here in Texas (not too shabby).
What a great way to get your daily intake of water! The water has a hint of fruity flavor, then with every few sips, you get a little strawberry nib sneak through the straw… so refreshing! It just makes you want to keep on sippin’! Don’t like strawberries, no worries. Just add your favorite fruit instead. Today alone I’ve already tried strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. Which is your favorite fruit to add? Cheers to health!
- 3 strawberries, frozen
- 32 oz water
- ice
- Place frozen berries in the blender and pulse until you get tiny chunks of strawberries.
- Add water to the strawberries mixture, then pour over ice.
